Type species

Pharciceras tridens var. kseirense Termier & Termier, 1950 (original designation).

Diagnosis

Synpharciceratinae with thickly discoidal to thinly pachyconic, subevolute to evolute juvenile stage, whorl profile depressed. Adult stage subinvolute to involute by closure of the umbilicus by shell flares; whorl profile compressed, venter rounded. Adult stage without ventrolateral grooves. Suture line with wide external lobe, short bell- or funnel-shaped E 1 lobe, high median saddle, deep lanceolate E 2 lobe, smaller pointed lateral lobe, three or four outer and up to five inner umbilical lobes. Suture line formula (E 2 E 1 E 2) L U 2 U 4 U 6: U 5 U 3 U 1 I to (E 2 E 1 E 2) L U 2 U 4 U 6 U 8: U 9 U 7 U 5 U 3 U 1 I.
