Dasymutilla sleipniri Manley & Pitts 2007: 90 . Holotype, ♂, Panama CZ, Barro Colorado Island (UCDC, examined).
Diagnosis. MALE. This species can be recognized by the following combination of characters: the hypopygium is flat, lacking a medial longitudinal carina; the mesosoma, legs, and T1-2 are predominantly black; and S2 has an anteriorly situated longitudinal seta-filled pit.

Remarks. This is a fairly common species in southern Central America. It is nearly identical to D. fasciventris, differing mainly in the black integumental color (reddish in D. fasciventris).
