Geographic & bathymetric distribution. Only in the southern Caribbean Sea (south of 17°30’N) and along the N of the coast of South America, from Panama to Suriname including the Caribbean Sea: South of Jamaica, offshore of Montserrat, Grenada, Colombia and Venezuela, 365–1050 m depth (Holthuis 1971).

Remarks. Previous records for Venezuela: Off Falcón state (Holthuis 1971); Los Testigos Archipelago (Holthuis 1971; Blanco Rambla et al. 1994); La Tortuga Island, between 384 and 878 m depth (Blanco Rambla et al. 1994).
