Geographic & bathymetric distribution. Eastern Atlantic: Gabon, Congo, Angola and Canary Islands. Western Atlantic: Gulf of Mexico to Surinam. Western Indo-Pacific to Japan; 400 – 1230 m depth (Crosnier & Forest 1973; Blanco Rambla et al. 1994; Felder et al. 2009)

Remarks. Records for Venezuela: Los Testigos Archipelago, 807 – 878 m depth (Blanco Rambla et al. 1994).
