2. Mycotretus lesueuri + M. sobrinus
(Fig. 1M, R; character 14:1 and Fig. 5H) ‘inner contour of lateral borders of flagellum head almost contiguous’. This feature was observed in other Mycotretus, for instance, M. tigrinus (Olivier, 1792), M. prioteloides Mader, 1942 (Pecci-Maddalena & Lopes-Andrade, 2018a), M. sallei Crotch, 1876, M. spadiceus Gorham, 1888 and M. bipunctatus Gorham, 1888 (not included in this study). Except for M. bipunctatus, which has a somewhat widened body, the remaining species have an elongate body and are slightly oval. Mycotretus lesueuri is the type species of Mycotretus, so its morphology and that of its direct relatives may be regarded as typical for Mycotretus, in the event of future taxonomic changes.
