The valid type species fixation is that of Duponchel (1867) who selected Cetonia tricolor Olivier, 1789, but that nominal species is the type species of the genus Glycosia Schoch, 1896 .

An application to the Commission is necessary to fix Cetonia horsfieldii Hope, 1831 as the type species of Glycyphana Burmeister, 1842 .
