Differential diagnosis. The new species from the north of the Balearic Island of Mallorca belongs to the subgenus Acalles s. str. It is, from a morphological and molecular perspective, closely related to Acalles breiti A. & F. Solari, 1909 and should be compared with the lectotype of this species (a male, designated by Stüben 1999, coll. Solari: Museo Civico di Storia Naturale di Milano) from the type locality Valldemossa—only 6 km east of the type locality of the new species (Son Coll):
