Vernacular Names: Bridled Nail-tail Wallaby.

Distribution: Formerly in S Queensland, interior New South Wales; survives only near Taunton, Queensland (Australia).

Conservation: CITES – Appendix I; U.S. ESA and IUCN – Endangered.

Discussion: McAllan and Bruce (1989) argued that the original publication of this name was in The Athenaeum, 670:685 [29 August 1840], as [ Macropus] frenatus.
