Type Locality: Australia, Western Australia, Barrow Isl.
Vernacular Names: Spectacled Hare-wallaby.
Synonyms: Lagorchestes leichardti Gould 1853; Lagorchestes pallidior Thomas and Dollman 1909 .
Distribution: N Western Australia and adjacent islands, N Northern Territory, N and W Queensland (Australia).
Conservation: IUCN – Vulnerable as L. c. conspicillatus, otherwise Lower Risk (nt). Common locally.
Discussion: May consist of two or three distinct species.
