Hipposideros inornatus (McKean 1970)

Hipposideros diadema subsp. inornatus McKean 1970, West. Aust. Nat., 11 (6): 138.

Type Locality: Australia, Northern Territory, 55 mi. (85 km) S of Oenpelli, Deaf Adder Creek, where it emerges from the Arnhem Land Plateau, 13°06'S, 132°56'E.

Vernacular Names: McKean's Leaf-nosed Bat.

Distribution: Northern Territory (Australia).

Conservation: IUCN 2003 – Not evaluated; not considered in IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001).

Discussion: diadema species group. Formerly considered a subspecies of diadema, but apparently distinct; see Kitchener et al. (1992 b). Also see Churchill (1998).
