Note.

In the protologue, Cuatrecasas (1940) did not mention a number or a herbarium for the J. M. Duque J. [José María Duque Jaramillo] collection. However, when Cuatrecasas (1948 [1949]) made the new combination in W. sorbifolia Kunth, he did mention ‘ Duque 1555 ’ housed in the US herbarium, but without designating it as the type. We chose this duplicate as the lectotype. This variety is a synonym of W. sorbifolia Kunth in Bernal (2016: 1128).
