Note.

Cuatrecasas (1941) cited a single collection as the type but did not mention the herbarium housing the type (“ Typus: … 8-I-1941, J. Cuatrecasas, 11816. ”). We herewith designate the COL specimen as the lectotype. We add that Bernardi (1963: 327-328) mentioned “ Cuatrecasas 11816 (COL, F), cum capsulis (typi numerus). ” Since he cited two herbaria and the plural term “ typi ”, his citation does not constitute a typification. Weinmannia subvelutina is considered a synonym of W. rollottii Killip in Bernal (2016: 1128).
