Samacar kurilensis Kamenev, 2007: 308–315, figs. 5–9.

Material examined: 67 specimens from the ocean and sea slopes of the Kuril Islands ( Iturup, Urup, Chyornye Bratya, Rasshua, Simushir, Matua, and Shiashkotan Islands) and the Vries Strait (30–500 m) .

Distribution: Kuril Islands (30–500 m) (Kamenev 2007).

Remarks: Previously, this species was found only in the waters off the middle Kuril Islands (Urup, Skaly Lovushki, and Broutona Islands) at depths within 170–368 m (Kamenev 2007).
