Material examined: 97 specimens from the ocean and sea slopes of the southern Kuril Islands ( Iturup, Shikotan, Kunashir, Yuri, and Polonsky Islands) (100–700 m) .

Distribution: Hokkaido to northeast Honshu Island (Japan), Pacific Ocean; southern Kuril Islands (100–700 m) (Scarlato 1981; Kantor & Sysoev 2005; Okutani, Saito & Haga 2009; Kurozumi, Tsuchida & Okutani 2017).

Remarks: According to earlier reports, in the waters of the Kuril Islands, this species was recorded only from off Iturup Island at a depth to 414 m (Scarlato 1981); off Japan, to 355 m (Okutani, Saito & Haga 2009).
