Limatula attenuata Dall, 1916
(Fig. 3 A, B)
Limatula attenuata Dall, 1916: 17 .
Material examined: 27 specimens from the ocean and sea slopes of Polonsky, Shikotan, Kunashir, Iturup, Brat Chirpoyev, and Simushir Islands (30–500 m) .
Distribution: Kuril Islands; Kamchatka Peninsula; Aleutian Islands; Bering Sea; Pribilof Island and Bristol Bay, south to Cape Flattery, Washington (15–500 m) (Coan, Valentich-Scott & Bernard 2000).
Remarks: This is a new record from the region of the Kuril Islands. The species is widely distributed in the North Pacific (depth 15–274 m) (Coan, Valentich-Scott & Bernard 2000). In the Northwest Pacific, it was previously found only off the Kamchatka Peninsula (Coan, Valentich-Scott & Bernard 2000). The present finding down to the southernmost islands from depths to 500 m thus substantially expands its known geographical and depth range.
