Distribution in Nepal: Bagmati Province, Bhaktapur District, Bageshwori Reserve Forest; Kavreplanchok District, Punyamata khola, Rohini Bhanjyang, Nagarkot forest (2085masl); Kathmandu District, Tokha; Lalitpur District, Mahadev Khola (1450masl); Sugure Khola in Godawari (1700masl) (Thapa,2019)
Distribution elsewhere: Australia, Bangladesh, Canada, China, Denmark, England, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malay Archipelago, Philippines, Siam, Srilanka, South Africa (Gates 1972; Easton 1984; Mandal et al. 2010; Reynold et al. 2012; Hernandez-García et al. 2023).
Habitat: Agricultural fields (Rajkhowa et al. 2015), compost (Singh 2022).
Ecology: Epigeic (Dhar & Chaudhary 2020).
Remarks: In Latin the meaning of excavates means hollow so its name after the hole like region present of the male pore. It has been reported in compost from 1450–2085 m asl further habitat should be explored in Nepal.
