World distribution. America, Africa, China, Europe and Korea.
Diagnosis. Needle chaetae bayonet-shaped, one to two per bundle, with 1 - 3 intermediate denticles. Hair chaetae by one, smooth, the longest in midbody. In ventral bundles 3 - 6 chaetae, upper tooth longer than lower in II, and smaller in posterior bundles.
