Holotype: UPNG 7397, Eipomek, ca 1800m, 4 o 26'S 140 o E, Papua Province, Indonesia (P. Blum, 1975).

Remarks: Type series consists of two specimens; paratype in ZSM. Holotype also bears label PNGM 7465. Description gave the holotype data as Anguruk, 1400m, Jayawijaya Division, Papua Province, Indonesia (G. Scheepstra, vi.1979). Specimen is in good condition, although there is some dessication of the toes on the right hind limb.
