Diagnosis. Peridinetus trifasciatus differs from the morphologically similar P. lateralis and P. m e l a s t o m a e by the presence of three distinct elytral fasciae. The type, which is illustrated in Champion (1907), is said to be 8.2 mm long.
Distribution. This species has been found in the Cordillera de Talamanca in western Panama.
Plant association. Unknown.
Type material. Holotype, Panamá, Chiriquí (BMNH).
Material examined. Panamá. Chiriquí: Volcán Barú, 1 km S Respingo, 2200–2500 m (HPSC 1). Total 1 specimen.
