Stephanitis (Norba) outouana Drake & Maa

Stephanitis {Norba) outouana Drake & Maa 1953, p. 97

Material examined. 1F, 20 km N. of Pleiku, 650 m, 9.V.1960; L.W. Quate coll. (BPBM).

Discussion. This species differs from S. othnius Drake & Ruhoff by the narrower costal area (not five/six areolae wide). It is similar to S. chinensis Drake, but the subcostal area is partly triseriate. The description of S. outouana and S. bankana Drake (synonym of S. suffusa) also are similar. Stephanitis outouana has a rostrum extending to hind margin of metacoxae, whereas S. bankana has a rostrum extending beyond middle of mesosternum. The specimens investigated have a labium reaching the base of the abdomen and the margins of pronotal and hemelytral structures are hairy as stated in the original description.

Distribution. The species previously was known from China (Fujian) (Drake & Maa 1953) and Laos (Guilbert 2007).
