Distribution. Stephanitis pyrioides was originally described from Asia. It was known from China, Malaysia, and Mongolia (Drake & Ruhoff 1965a). It has also been introduced in several countries with its host plant Rhododendron, namely Australia (New South Wales), Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, Morocco, the Netherlands, and the USA (Streito 2006), Bhutan, India, and Nepal (Péricart 1985).
