Pelecinobaccha adspersa species group

Pelecinobaccha adspersa species group (type species Baccha adspersa Fabricius, 1805).

Included species. P. adspersa (Fabricius, 1805), P. duopuncta Miranda & Thompson sp. nov., P. menguali Miranda sp. nov., P. mima (Hull, 1949a), P. oviphora (Hull, 1943a), P. ovipositoria (Hull, 1943a), P. squamagula Miranda sp. nov., P. waynei Miranda sp. nov.

Diagnosis/comments. Species of this group have a black head and metatarsus, usually with lateral triangular/ oval spots of silver-white pollinosity on the frons/frontal triangle separated from the lateral pollen from the face. The female 10th tergite is usually reduced to a transverse band extending apico-laterally and merging into the cercus medially.
