Distribution. widespread in the tropics; recorded from Mascarene Islands (Mauritius), India, Indonesia, Taiwan, Oceania, Fiji Islands, Samoa, The Philippines, New Guinea, United States, Venezuela, Suriname, Jamaica, North Mariannas (Guam), Mauritius, Seychelles, New Caledonia (Attems, 1914b, 1936, 1937; Carl, 1922; Jeekel, 1968; Shelley & Lehtinen, 1998; Chen et al., 2006; Nguyen & Sierwald, 2013)

Remarks. Two subspecies, Chondromorpha xanthotricha xanthotricha Attems, 1898 and Chondromorpha xanthotricha hamuligera Verhoeff, 1936, have been also found in Sri Lanka (Nguyen & Sierwald, 2013).
