Crassula punctata Linnaeus, Systema Naturae, ed. 10, 2: 969. 1759.
["Habitat in Aethiopia. Burmannus."] Sp. Pl., ed. 2, 1: 406 (1762). RCN: 2251.
Neotype (Heath in Calyx 5: 68. 1995): Herb. Alströmer, " Crassula punctata " annot. Dahl (S) .
Current name: Crassula punctata L. ( Crassulaceae).
Note: Tölken (in J. S. African Bot. 38: 74. 1972; Contr. Bolus Herb. 8: 557. 1977; in Leistner, Fl. Southern Africa 14: 229. 1985) treated the name as insufficiently known, having been unable to trace any type material. Heath subsequently designated a neotype which is apparently identifiable as C. capitella Thunb. subsp. thyrsiflora (Thunb.) Tölken, but it does not seem to have been taken up in this sense by Heath, nor proposed for rejection.
