Generitype of Cerinthe Linnaeus (vide Hitchcock, Prop. Brit. Bot.: 128. 1929).

Current name: Cerinthe major L. ( Boraginaceae).

Note: Qaiser (in Jafri & El-Gadi, Fl. Libya 68: 52. 1979) and Valdés (in Lagascalia 10: 100. 1981) both indicated 186.1 (LINN) as type. However, this is a Brander collection from North Africa which was not received by Linnaeus until after 1753 and therefore cannot be original material for the name.
