Current name: Vaucheria fontinalis (L.) T.A. Chr. ( Vaucheriaceae).

Note: Christensen (in Brit. Phycol. Bull. 3: 465. 1968) treated Dillenius’ description as the type but clearly included the cited plate as part of this. As a consequence, his statement is accepted as a formal typification for the name.
