Current name: Cladophora glomerata (L.) Kuetz . var. glomerata ( Cladophoraceae).

Note: See discussion by Waern (in Acta Phytogeogr. Suecica 30: 76. 1952), and by van den Hoek (Revis. Eur. Sp. Cladophora: 162. 1963), who treated material in the Dillenius herbarium as the type but, as this was not studied by Linnaeus, it cannot be original material for the name.
