Note: Marais & Verdoorn (in Dyer & al., Fl. Southern Africa 26: 224. 1963) stated that the type was "based on Burmann’s specimens from the Cape, seen by Linnaeus and evidently not preserved but specimens in Burmann’s herbarium fit the description".
