Current name: Cunila origanoides (L.) Britton ( Lamiaceae).

Note: Cunila van Royen ex Linnaeus (1759), nom. cons. against Cunila Linnaeus ex P. Miller (1754), nom. rej.

Epling (in J. Bot. 67: 7. 1929) indicated Clayton 197 (BM) as a "standard specimen". This was wrongly indicated as a type choice by Jarvis & al. (Regnum Veg. 127: 40. 1993) and is not acceptable as a typification (see Jarvis & al. in Taxon 50: 508. 2001).
