Current name: Dactyloctenium aegyptium (L.) P. Beauv. ( Poaceae).

Note: Cope (in Nasir & Ali, Fl. Pakistan 143: 106. 1982) indicated two descriptions published by Bauhin, along with a cited Plukenet illustration, as “type”, and therefore did not restrict their choice to a single element. Kit Tan appears to have been the first to refer to a single element as the type.
