Current name: Senna alexandrina Mill. ( Fabaceae: Caesalpinioideae).
Note: Brenan (in Milne-Redhead & Polhill, Fl. Trop. E. Africa, Leguminosae 2: 65. 1967) stated that the type was uncertain but that Morison’s plant agreed with usage of the name. Valenti was the first to make a formal type choice.
