Lectotype (Al-Shehbaz in Howard, Fl. Lesser Antilles 4: 296. 1988): Herb. Clifford: 204, Capparis 2 (BM-000628728) .

Current name: Capparis cynophallophora L. ( Capparaceae).

Note: Fawcett & Rendle (in J. Bot. 52: 142. 1918) stated that this was based on the Hortus Cliffortianus account, and discussed all of the original elements, but did not clearly indicate any one as the type. However, Rankin & Greuter (in Willdenowia 34: 262. 2004) disagree and cite Fawcett and Rendle as having typified the name.
