Lectotype (Adamson in J. S. African Bot. 19: 157. 1953): " Campanula africana, ericae folio, flore coeruleo patulo", Herb. Hermann 4: 16, bottom left (BM-000594715) .

Current name: Prismatocarpus fruticosus (L.) L’Hér . ( Campanulaceae).

Note: In the protologue, Linnaeus cited a Hermann polynomial published in a supplement by Burman (1737). This polynomial and reference, written by Linnaeus, can be found annotating three specimens in Hermann’s herbarium (vol. 4: 16, BM). They are clearly original material for Linnaeus’ name and were treated as the type by Adamson.
