Conserved type (Turland in Taxon 44: 643. 1995): Egypt. Alexandria, Sidi-Gaber, 8 Apr 1908, Bornmüller 10781 (B).

Current name: Centaurea pumilio L. ( Asteraceae).

Note: Turland (in Taxon 44: 643. 1995) proposed a conserved type (and spelling for the epithet) for C. pumilio (variously spelled “pumilis”, “pumilio” and “pumila” by Linnaeus), subsequently approved by the Committee for Spermatophyta (in Taxon 47: 867. 1998) and the General Committee (in Taxon 48: 376. 1999).
