Current name: Pachydactylus capensis (Smith, 1846)

Syntypes (2): PEM R8453, R8375 (formerly AMG 5008); Longhope, on the Great Fish River, Eastern Cape Province, South Africa; Miss D. Cotton, date unknown .

Remarks: Type description refers to only two specimens as ‘types’. PEM R8375 is illustrated in the plate. Both specimens are in good condition.
