6. Eugenia dichroma Berg (1859: 290) [Fig. 2G; Fig 5D]

Endemic to the Atlantic Forest (Sobral et al. 2009) and found in the Northeastern and Southeastern regions of Brazil (Govaerts et al. 2010; Proença & Sobral 2006). In the Northeast, it is found in the States of Bahia and Pernambuco (Sobral et al. 2010, Amorim & Alves 2011a).

Trees and shrubs 2–5 m tall, leaves 10–12 × 3–5 cm, midvein sulcate on adaxial lamina surface, raceme with main axis reduced, bracts lanceolate, bracteoles elliptical, hypanthium pilose, fruit ellipsoid with seeds maculate.
