Bathypogon macrodonturus Hull, 1959: 18 (whole mount-Fig. 6, hypandrium-Fig. 14)

Holotype ♂ Label data: Holotype Bathypogon macrodonturus Hull // Mullewa / W. A./ Miss F. May [Aquisition No.: SAMA Database No 29-001181]

Condition: poor. Head: most of mystax missing; postpedicel of both antennae missing; area above proboscis has moderate sized hole; palps missing. Thorax: intact. Wings: intact. Legs: left hind tibia and remaining segments apically missing; apical half of right hind tibia and remaining segments missing. Abdomen: underside of basal 4 segments of abdomen eaten out and replaced by balsam. Genitalia: intact.

[Author’s Note: Male specimens are present in the SAMA collection from WA, which are definitely B. macrodonturus and whose labels bear the dates Nov 5 and 8, 1968, suggesting that this is a late Spring species.]
