Collection and Habitat data. This species is likely associated with American beaver lodges and dams, and decaying organic material; in NB adults were common in nest lining material (mostly grasses) of occupied beaver lodges, also found among sticks and debris near outflow area of beaver dams; one specimen was taken from decaying moldy corncobs and cornhusks, and another from a polypore fungus on beech log in a red spruce and red maple forest. Elsewhere reported from nest lining of a deserted beaver lodge and from a UV trap (Hoebeke 1985, Klimaszewski et al. 2018).
