Collection and Habitat data. In NH a male was captured in maple litter from along a stream in an old-growth silver maple floodplain forest in July. In Canada most specimens of this species were collected by passive traps in a variety of habitats (Brunke et al. 2021). In Sweden P. palustris is considered a eurytopic species that occurs in various types of decaying plant matter, including compost, seaweed and hay piles, and is common along muddy shores of water bodies (Palm 1970). It can be collected in very large numbers using a car net (Brunke et al. 2021).
