Distribution. Palearctic, adventive in North America. Canada: BC, NB, NF, NS, QC, SK. USA: CA, MN, ME (NSR), NH (NSR), OR.

Collection and Habitat data. The NH specimens were found in coastal backdunes, pig dung in pasture, and taken by FIT, window, and UV light traps. Collected from June to July. In Canada found in open habitats where it occurs in cow and horse dung, carrion, compost, rotting mushrooms, and other rotting organic substrates (Klimaszewski et al. 2018). Some flying individuals were collected with an aerial net in late afternoon (15:00–18:00 h) in early spring in a mixed forest opening (Webster et al. 2009).
