Solierella compedita (Piccioli, 1869)

Remark. Solierella compedita was misidentified in some previous papers about Iranian Crabronidae fauna (Atbaei et al. 2015; Sadeghi et al. 2018; Fallahzadeh et al. 2018); most previously known specimens of this species were examined here and refer to S. insidiosa . See discussion under that species. Solierella compedita was not yet recorded from Iran, but can be expected in the North.
Geographic distribution: Widespread and common in southern and southern-central Europe, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Morocco and Tunisa (based on material, examined by CSE).
Distribution in Iran: Not recorded from Iran. A female from Fars province with dark legs (colour similar as described below for S. compedita) has a very fine sculptured propodeal enclosures and is therefore a very dark coloured form of S. insidiosa .
