Diagnosis. Operculum complex, consisting of basal ampulla, often with mid-dorsal groove, distal part composed of 4–10 parallel tiers with dorsal indent and terminating with flat disk; tube with 5–9 longitudinal teethed keels (Fig. 13).
Remarks. Zibrowius (1971) also mentioned enlarged tips of branchial radioles in M. nates as a specific character.
Distribution. Europa Island, Tanzania; Red Sea; Ponape Island; Honshu, Japan. New record for Australia.
