Remarks. A detailed description of C. amboinensis is given by McLay (1993) including the distinctive arrangement of teeth and tubercles on the anterolateral margin and sub-hepatic area of the carapace, respectively. The carapace is smooth, evenly convex and usually hidden under a sponge or ascidian cap.
Distribution. Sri Lanka, Mergui Archipelago (Myanmar), Amboina (Indonesia), Philippine Ids and New Caledonia. This is a new record for Australia. Depth 20– 40 m.
