C. Jin & C. Zhang.

Diagnosis. Closely related to C. callainus sp. nov., but can be distinguished by the presence of a tegular bump (TB, Figs 229, 235–236), the absence of the serrulate-edged LED, and the salticid radix (SR) not obviously sclerotized in the male (Figs 229, 235), and by the absence of a wide sclerotized area above the epigynal window in the female (Figs 237–240).

Description. Male. See Cao, Li & Żabka (2016).

Female. Habitus as shown in Figs 223–224. Carapace length 2.46 (variation: 2.41–2.46, n=2); abdomen length 2.32. Measurements of eyes: AME 0.47, ALE 0.32, PME 0.07, PLE 0.29. Measurements of legs: I 4.71 (1.46, 0.93, 1.14, 0.66, 0.52), II 3.87 (1.24, 0.72, 0.81, 0.67, 0.43), III 4.25 (1.41, 0.65, 0.82, 0.82, 0.55), IV 4.45 (1.43, 0.56, 0.95, 0.97, 0.54). Chelicerae (Fig. 227) dark brown, promargin with two teeth, retromargin with one bicuspid tooth. Sternum with setal tuft centrally. Dorsal abdomen not sclerotized. Color in alcohol (Figs 223–224): carapace reddish brown, with two longitudinal dark bands between ALE and PLE; abdomen yellowish brown, without obvious markings. Epigynum (Figs 237, 239, 242): window large, with sclerotized rims, median septum narrow; lateral depressions shallow. Vulva (Figs 238, 240–241, 243): CD thin, swerving for seven times, with one small nodule between CO and AG; AG chilli-like, pointing dorsally (Fig. 241) or laterally (Fig. 240); spermathecae small and slightly bulging.

Natural history. All specimens from XTBG were collected on the handrails of a footpath in the tropical rainforest.

Remarks. Cytaea yunnanensis was originally described from Menglun Nature Reserve (21°57.669'N, 101°11.893'E, 790 m elev.), Xishuangbanna, based on the male holotype (Cao et al. 2016). We have collected both sexes of this species near the type locality. Some morphological evidence, such as the presence of a uniform tegular hump and a spine on the prolateral cymbium of male palp, the similar morphology of female genitalia and body form, the sexual dimorphism of setal tuft on the sternum, clearly show that Cytaea yunnanensis is closely related to Charippus callainus sp. nov. . The morphological characters of these two species, such as the presence of CPSB and dense pits on the cephalon, and the lateral depressions on the epigynum, show that they belong to Charippus . Therefore, we herein transfer Cytaea yunnanensis to Charippus .

Distribution. China (Yunnan).
