Etymology. The specific epithet is from the Latin callainus meaning the color of turquoise, and refers to the color of facial setae of the new species.

Diagnosis. The new species resembles Charippus yunnanensis (Cao & Li, 2016) comb. nov. in the body form and shape of genitalia, but it can be distinguished from the latter by the absence of tegular bump, the presence of wide and serrulate-edged LED (Figs 61–68) and a wide sclerotized area above the epigynal window (Figs 69–72, 74–75). In C. yunnanensis, the tegular bump is present, LED is not obvious and the wide sclerotized area above the epigynal window is absent (Figs 237–240).

Description. Male. Habitus as shown in Figs 54–55. Carapace length 2.46 (variation: 1.91–2.50, n=5); abdomen length 2.15. Measurements of eyes: AME 0.48, ALE 0.30, PME 0.06, PLE 0.28. Measurements of legs: I 5.48 (1.48, 0.99, 1.47, 0.98, 0.56), II 4.14 (1.21, 0.61, 0.99, 0.84, 0.49), III 4.24 (1.36, 0.56, 0.87, 1.00, 0.45), IV 4.45 (1.35, 0.47, 0.95, 1.16, 0.52). Palp (Figs 61–68): pale yellow; embolus slender, coiled more than a circle; embolic disc large, with sclerotized sub-outer area; LED wide and outer-extended, serrulate-edged; tegulum bulging, heart-shaped, tegular lobe present, proximal tegular lobe visible in expanded palp, without tegular bump, tegular hump present, connecting to distal haematodocha; salticid radix slightly sclerotized; retrolateral sperm duct loop not visible in ventral view; retrolateral tibial apophysis curved, widest intermediately and relatively narrow at base and tip in dorsal view. Sternum without setal tuft. Color in alcohol (Figs 54–55): carapace orange to reddish brown, with two longitudinal dark bands between ALE and PLE; dorsal abdomen pale with grayish brown markings, with an oval and relatively sclerotized area; ventral abdomen pale gray; patellae I–II and tibiae I–II dark brown, other parts of legs sandy yellow, covered with yellowish brown setae.
