Type Locality: Uganda, Ruwenzori East, Mubuku Valley, 10,000 ft. (3048 m).

Vernacular Names: Montane Mouse Shrew.

Distribution: Montane forest at Mt. Ruwenzori (Uganda, Dem. Rep. Congo).

Conservation: IUCN – Vulnerable.

Discussion: Does not occur together with babaulti in the Bwindi Impenetrable NP, Uganda, as suggested by Kasangaki et al. (2003).
