Type Locality: Venezuela, Táchira, Buena Vista, 07°27'N, 72°26'W, 2415 m.

Vernacular Names: Tama Small-eared Shrew.

Distribution: Montane forest and pasture margins in the Tamá highlands, W Venezuela, and adjacent highlands in Colombia between 2385 and 3329 m.

Discussion: C. thomasi group; most similar to meridensis and thomasi (Woodman, 2002) .
