Distribution. Nearctic, Neotropical; Chile: Región Metropolitana (Townes 1983); Región del Biobío (Townes 1983); Región de La Araucanía (Townes 1983).

Comments. The species is present in Chile with the subspecies Ethelurgus syrphicola rufipes (Brèthes, 1909) (Townes 1983) .
