Distribution. Afrotropical, Australasian, Indomalay, Nearctic, Neotropical, Oceanian, Palaearctic (Eastern, Western); Chile (Spinola 1851).
Comments: In the original description, Geoffroy in Fourcroy (1785) does not cite the type locality, but Spinola (1851) reported that “ se halla en los mismos parages que la que antecede [ Diplazon laetatorius] [= it is located in the same place as the previous one [ Diplazon laetatorius] ” which is “ provincia centrales ”.
