Stenocephalus setulosus Ferrari, 1874: 139 (as new species).

Distribution in Iran. Ardabil (Modarres Awal 1996b), East Azarbaijan (Gharaat et al. 2009; Khaghaninia et al. (2010b), Fars (Linnavuori 2012), Guilan (Linnavuori 2007), Ilam (Samin et al. 2011), Khorasan (Modarres Awal 1996a), West Azarbaijan (Gharaat et al. 2009; Sakenin et al. 2010).

General distribution. Ponto-Mediterranean basin (including the Maghreb and Near East), Transcaucasia, Ukraine, Central Asia, Oman.

Comments. On grasses (Modarres Awal 1996a), Medicago sativa (Fabaceae) (Modarres Awal 1996b), and Euphorbia petrophila (Euphorbiaceae) (Linnavuori 2012).
